Yasunari Hirai is on the move.
In the build-up to the final Olympic 10K Marathon Swim qualification race in Setubal, Portugal over the last month, the 2012 Japanese Olympian has traveled to Flagstaff, Arizona to do altitude training, to Santa Monica, California to train with world 10 km champion Jordan Wilmovsky and USA Olympic marathon swimming coach Dave Kelsheimer, to Huntington Beach to do strategic planning, and to Knoxville, Tennessee to train with world 25 km champion Alex Meyer, and to do POW Training with USA Swimming national team coach Tyler Fenwick.
“These are tough workouts,” Hirai said with his trademark smile.
