Who Is The King Of The Sea?

Who are these guys on the beach?

They are top open water swimmers from South Africa, Italy, Germany, Argentina, and Brazil who compete in the annual King and Queen of the Sea (Rei e Rainha do Mar in Portuguese) competition in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The multi-stage professional and amateur open water swim series is held in Copacabana Beach, Arpoador Beach, and Leme in Brazil with the professional invitational race annually broadcast live in Brazil on TV Globo.

The event is one of the World’s Top 100 Open Water Swims and is produced by Pedro Rego Monteiro of Effect Sport that donates its proceeds to the Pro Crianca Cardiaca Foundation that runs the Hospital Pro Criansa Jutta Batista in Rio de Janeiro.
