When The Timing Is Off At China Walls

There are a handful of channel swimmers who are swept past the traditional finishing point of Sandy Beach on Oahu during their Molokai Channel crossings: Stephen Redmond, Michael Ventre and Kimberley Chambers.

These swimmers, extremely fatigued after hours of swimming, have to navigated surf as they climb up the rocky face of China Walls along the beachfront community of Portlock, east of the Diamond Head volcano.

The video by Molokai Channel kayaker Marcos Robaina shows what can happen when the timing is off at the China Walls.
