VolgaSwim includes a 1 km, 3 km and 5 km open water races across the Volga river in Russia.

Race director Alexander Bazanov explains the course, “The Volga is the longest and largest river in Europe. It is 3,530 km long. The course crosses the river Volga with 3 different courses. The 1 km and 3 km races start from the left bank of the river and the 5 km race starts from the right bank. To finish the 1 km distance, swimmers need to cross the river at its narrowest point. The 3 km and 5 km distances extend along the shore with the flow of the river.”
