Barbie dolls was launched in March 1959 with over a billion Barbie dolls sold.

It is said that Barbie has had an impact on society by conveying characteristics of female independence.

For Barbie’s 60th anniversary, Canadian swimmer Trinity Arsenault is one of the five women across Canada who are being featured in the ‘You Can Be Anything’ campaign.

This is such an insanely surreal moment, I can’t believe the campaign has finally started,” Arsenault posted on her Facebook page. “I’ve been rowing for two years now, but swimming has and always be such a huge part of my life, so I’m honored to represent the swimmer Barbie.

I love what this campaign reminds me of and the inspiration it is for so many kids: dream big [because] we’re capable of anything.”

This week Arsenault will be featured in every Toys R Us store across Canada.

The University of Pennsylvania freshman rower was the youngest person to swim across the traditional route of Lake Ontario and Lake Erie in August and July of 2014 and completed a crossing of the English Channel in 2016.

She gave a TEDx Eden High School speech in 2017.
