In Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil’s southernmost state that borders Argentina and Uruguay, the annual 2.2 km Travessia a Nado do Rio Jacuí is organized by Cristiano Linhares in February.

Francismar Siviero describes the 8th edition that will be held on February 24th, “Swimmers from Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Santa Catarina will start at Praia do Seringa and aims to promote swimming and charitable activities in the open water of the state.“
