Tower Of Power In Santa Monica, California

The Tower 26 summer season workouts on Santa Monica Beach in Southern California starts this Wednesday, May 17th.

Our swim caps have arrived and the ocean temperatures have warmed above 60°F (16°C+) consistently, although the winds will create patches of warm and cold,” explains Tower 26 founder Gerry Rodrigues.

We enter phase four of the year’s triathlon swim training plan, which is when we start our open water sessions.” Rodrigues is shown above explaining the five training phases and their significance.

To complement these beach sessions, you can join our pool workouts at Pacific Palisades High School or sign-in and sample free pool workouts here.

We start at 6:00 am sharp at lifeguard Tower 26, located approximately one mile south of Santa Monica Pier. You’ll experience lower 60°F’s water temps, minimal surf, a falling tide, low wind and sunny skies: outstanding conditions.”

Parking is in the beach parking lot off Barnard Way and Ocean Park Blvd., a couple bucks required. Lot opens at 5:30 am for payment.

You’ll need to become an affiliate club member of TOWER 26 to attend our beach workouts after your first free trial. TOWER 26 pool members and affiliate beach members will need to wear your 2017 TOWER 26 swim caps. Guests will need to check-in and sign our waiver.

Participants need to swim a sub-38 minute mile; 24 minutes for 1,000 yards or minimum 2:30 per 100 yard pacing. Please attend one of our pool sessions for a qualifying swim.”
