63-year-old Tampa, Florida author and swimmer Lynn Griesemer (MSF bio here, @lynngriesemer) and her tandem swim partner Ken Morgan are the Oldest Male-Female Team to complete the 45.9 km 20 Bridges circumnavigation swim around Manhattan Island in New York City.

There were both 62 years old when they swam around in 10 hours 11 minutes on August 9th 2025. Their swim was the basis for Griesemer’s book, Swimming Around Manhattan: Find Your Passion ~ Make it Happen. Griesemer writes the story from the perspective of a woman with no competitive swimming background and who dreamed of attempting and finishing her dream swim around Manhattan Island.

Her book includes 76 photos and three additional stories of swimmers who completed the 20 Bridges Manhattan Island Swim.
