Sally Minty-Gravett Sets Guinness World Record

Along with Jaimie Monahan, Ram Barkai, Lewis Pugh, Antonio Argüelles, and Pat Gallant-Charette, Jersey’s Sally Minty-Gravett MBE officially received a Guinness World Record certificate from adjudicator Kim Partrick at the 2018 Open Water Summit and WOWSA Awards at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, California.

Minty-Gravett set the world record for becoming the Oldest Person to Complete Two-way Crossing of the English Channel, a feat she accomplished in August 2016 when she took 36 hours 26 minutes to completed a two-way crossing at the age of 59. Her first leg took her 15 hours 3 minutes and her second leg took her 21 hours 23 minutes.
