The River Mile started in 1924 and continues to be Africa’s oldest open water swim.
The event on the Swartkops River has recently grown to include a festival of sporting events including a triathlon, a mountain bike ride, a fun run, kid’s swims, half-mile swims, a disabled mile, a wetsuit Double Mile and the two traditional feature events: the Ladies and the Men’s Mile races.
