Dan Simonelli was not around in 1927 when the first race across the Catalina Channel was held, but the American open swimming coach is going to do his best to replicate history.

On the 99th anniversary of the Wrigley Ocean Marathon Swim, Simonelli will attempt a crossing of the Catalina Channel on January 15th.
