Dr. Kim Holland is a Research Professor at the Hawaiʻi Institute of Marine Biology and the founder of the Pelagic Fisheries and Shark Research Group at the Holland Lab.
The Holland Lab started the concept of using sharks as oceanographers.
Dr. Holland equips sharks with electronic tags to collect near real-time data of ocean temperature and oxygen concentration.
In addition, his lab continues to test new types of electronic tags to increase the understanding of marine animal movements and the physical and biological factors that shape their behavior.
