Ram Barkai Sets Guinness World Record

Along with Antonio Argüelles, Jaimie Monahan, Lewis Pugh, Sally Minty-Gravett MBE, and Pat Gallant-Charette, South Africa’s Ram Barkai officially received a Guinness World Record certificate from adjudicator Kim Partrick at the 2018 Open Water Summit and WOWSA Awards at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, California.

His certificate was for the Most Southerly Swim with his 1 km swim in the Southern Ocean in Antarctica completed in 2008 when he swam 1 km at 70º south latitude, near Maitri, in Long Lake along the Antarctic Peninsula.
