Renowned marathon swimmer Penny Dean spoke at the Triathlon Club of San Diego this week about her initial failures in the open water and her ultimate successes in the Catalina Channel and English Channel.
A video broadcast of Penny’s talk to the triathlon crowd is available at the Triathlon Club of San Diego website. She spoke about “her little swim in 1978” – a world record setting English Channel swim.
A long-time mainstay of the Catalina Channel community and the former USA Swimming National Open Water Swim Team coach, Dean‘s next speech on her West Coast tour will be at the Global Open Water Swimming Conference this Saturday.
