Pace Swimmers With Pat Gallant-Charette On Windermere

Pat Gallant-Charette completed a successful 12-mile crossing of Lake Windermere in 7 hours 38 minutes yesterday with Julie Bradshaw as her pilot and observer. “To see these curious swans was one the highlights of my swim,” reported the 67-year-old former nurse.

She explained en route back to her home state of Maine, “I am extremely pleased to complete Four for Four within two months: Manhattan Island, Lake Tahoe, Loch Ness, and Windermere. Each swim had a unique set of challenges: speed in Manhattan, high altitude and cold air temperatures in Lake Tahoe, cold water in Loch Ness, and only 3 days rest after Loch Ness in Windermere.”
