Never Too Old Around Manhattan Island

On June 30th after 10 hours 53 minutes at the age of 67 years and 148 days, Pat Gallant-Charette became the oldest person to complete the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming and the oldest female* to complete a circumnavigation swim around Manhattan Island in New York.

She completed a crossing of the Catalina Channel at the age of 60 in 2011, a crossing of the English Channel at the age of 66 in 2017, and the 20 Bridges Swim at the age of 67, breaking the previous record of James Clifford who completed a crossing of the Catalina Channel at the age of 62, the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim at the age of 62, and a crossing of the English Channel at the age of 63.

The oldest women (over the age of 50) to successfully complete a 45.9 km circumnavigation swim around Manhattan Island are as follows:
