Mentor Extraordinaire Dan Simonelli

“He left a bag of glow sticks in the room,” said Quinn Fitzgerald.

“It had be Dan Simonelli – the guy is ready for any channel crossing or marathon swim or group ocean practice anytime anywhere,” said Steven Munatones. “No one guides, mentors and shares knowledge about channel swimming and its logistics and kayaking and risk more frequently than Dan.”

Simonelli is founder of the Open Water Swim Academy and won the 2015 Service to Marathon Swimming Award given by the Marathon Swimmers Federation.

Simonelli was one of the speakers at the 2019 WOWSA Ocean Fest in Redondo Beach, California last weekend.
