It was not surprising that 2020 Tokyo Olympian Kareena Lee won the 5 km Time Trial at the 2020 Australian Open Water Swimming Championships held on Brighton Beach, Adelaide, but Madeleine Gough gave her good competition finishing only 3 seconds behind.

Lee will be the sole Australian women competing for a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games this coming August.
