Don Macdonald, known as the The American Swimming Scotsman, has swum the Boston Light Swim, Tampa Bay Marathon Swim, and many other open water venues from Lake Michigan to La Jolla, California.
Macdonald helped with the product development of Instabeat, a cardiac ECG-level heart rate target zone monitor that attaches to swimmer’s goggles that is waterproof. “My doctors guess that if I wasn’t blown out in 2011 in the English Channel, I would likely died since my sudden cardiac arrest happened under similar training.”
And now he is doing good trying to help others with preventative measures. For more updates on Instabeat, visit here.
