Ice Mile Clarification

ICE MILE News – Clarification
Dear all you frozen ones,

A quick clarification of recent news about IISA Ice Miles.

Individual ICE MILEs can be swum in open water. IISA encourages swimmers to do their Ice Miles anywhere in beautiful frozen water masses. As long as safety is in place.

ICE MILE EVENTS – where several Ice Mile attempts are done together as a group, is now, only supported in Pool like course.

Pool course:
25m to 100m, with access to swimmer from at least three sides.
The pool can be man made in a frozen lake.
The course must have lanes.
Max 4 swimmers at a time.
Swimmers can perform an open turn with a push
Orgnaisers must cater for all swimmers recovery and safety at all times!
In Open water course, Ice Mile will have to be done individually, one swimmer at a time.
