At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Kristóf Rasovszky and David Betlehem won an Olympic gold and bronze medal. Hungarian swimmers have long been among the global open water swimming elite.

Bálint Kreisz (17, Hungary, World Aquatics bio here, @kreisz_b1l7nt_) and Armand Marosszéki (16, Hungary, World Aquatics bio here, @armand_marosszeki) are following in their wake with a 1-2 finish in the 7.5 race at the 2026 World Aquatics Junior Open Water Swimming Championships in Santa Fe, Argentina.

While their best times in the pool are not as fast as some of their competitors, Kreisz and Marosszéki certainly know how to race and pace themselves, position and protect themselves in competitive packs.

Third place went to Bo Ling Su (15, Chinese Taipei, World Aquatics bio here) swam up and swam well against the older boys. He won his national championships in the 800m (8:10) and 1500m (15:39) last year and should continue to be a force in the open water world for some time to come.
