Hands Down, It Was A Long Swim By Yuko Matsuzaki

Yuko Matsuzaki,, the only Japanese swimmer inducted in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame, completed an 83 km (51.5 miles) solo swim in Lake Cane in Orlando, Florida on September 13th 2008.

Matsuzaki, a world champion fin swimmer, swam for 33 hours 25 minutes.

A photo of her hands and feet are shown above as a telltale sign of the time she spent in the water.

Her swim benefited the Central Orlando YMCA Swimming Programs at the YMCA Aquatic Center and Downtown YMCA.

She talked about her first professional marathon swim at the Maratona del Golfo Capri-Napoli, the Italian leg of the FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix circuit, below:
