The deadline for reduced sanction fees of the Catalina Channel Swimming Federation is midnight California time tonight.

CCSF President Forrest Nelson writes, “This is the final week when the Catalina Channel Swimming Federation offers a discounted sanction fee. We urge solo and relay swimmers to visit the CCSF Portal, complete your application, and submit it with payment by the May 1st deadline.

Afterward, full sanction fees will be charged.

It seems many 2019 swimmers on social media have hashtagged their posts with #catalinachanneltraining, #catalinachannel, #catalinaswim and #catalinachannelswim.”

The record-setter for the Catalina Island to California mainland crossing is Grace van der Byl who shared her thoughts and perspectives on the mental and physical aspects of marathon and channel swims and what motherhood means to her and her ocean life on the This Ocean Life TV podcast.

The podcast episode with Van der Byl is sponsored by Shearwater Paddleboards, a family-owned company that hand-crafts prone paddleboards and surfboards.
