From Lima To Lone Star, Gustavo Gutierrez Shines

The men of the University of Missouri, led by freshman Gustavo Gutierrez from Lima, Peru, dominated the College Swimming Coaches Association of America‘s National Collegiate Open Water Swimming Championships on in Kansas’ Lone Star Lake.

Gutierrez was the only swimmer to break the one-hour mark with his teammates finishing 2nd and 5th as they easily won the team title with 8 points, well ahead of Carson-Newman (37) and George Washington (41).

The top three finishers from each team contribute to their team’s scores.
