Will Sweden’s Fredric Liljestrom and Sheryl Lyn Slater defend their record-setting times (of 3 hours 35 minutes and 4 hours 1 minute) this year on October 10th at the Perhentian Island Marathon Swim, a 16 km circumnavigation swim held around Pulau, Perhentian Besar in Malaysia?

Mohammed Sofian Ismail says, “The challenge is to swim 16 km around one of Perhentian Islands called Pulau Besar. The Perhentian Islands are a small group of beautiful, coral-fringed islands off the coast of northeastern Malaysia in the state of Terengganu. 2020 will be the 4th edition of the event that was started in 2017. The event is consisted of a 16 km solo race, a 16 km 2-person relay, a 16 km 4-person relay, and a 4 km solo race. It is the best swim event in the world [see complete review here].”
