Fins Up In The Maui Channel

62-year-old Bill Goding [shown above], Quinn Riordan and Masa from Japan swam a three-man solo crossing from Lanai Island to Maui across the Maui Channel this afternoon in a ripping fast 3 hours 41 minutes.

Linda Kaiser reports, “3:41! There was a huge current and light winds. They had planned to land at Lahaina [on Maui], but the current took them to Kaanapali. A pod of dolphin swam by, then another fin was sighted.

But it wasn’t dolphin; it was an eight-foot tiger shark that came by to check them out and then swam on.”
