In the days of increasing demand and ongoing price inflation, it is normal to expected increases in entry fees in the sport of open water swimming.

But Phil White of the Northeast Kingdom Open Water Swimming Association says nay nay to increased prices in 2025.

He explains, “We started the Saturday Clubhous Swim Series in Lake Memphremagog in Vermont as a small group event during the pandemic.  We limited each Saturday to no more than 10 swimmers and 10 kayakers.  We fell in love with it, as did many others, swimming from the Clubhous Beach out and around the islands of Derby Bay, one of the most beautiful parts of Lake Memphremagog.

As the pandemic began to fade a bit, we loved hanging with swimmers and yackers after the swim at The Clubhous.  So, we decided to continue these swims on Saturdays.

We are doing something different in 2025.  We are dropping the fee to register for the 2- and 3.5-mile courses to $5 and $25, respectively.  These are the Gateways to Marathon Open Water Swimming. We want them to be accessible to those starting their journey in the open water as well as those who simply love the shorter distances.

To register, visit here. The series is held on 10 Saturdays starting at 9:00 am on June 14th, 21st, 28th, July 12th and 19th, August 16th, 23rd and 30th, and September 6th and 13th 2025 on Lake Memphremagog to and around the islands of Derby Bay including Bell Island, Black Island, Cove Island, Province Island, and Ile Ronde.

Below is a Chart of the Clubhous Courses prepared by Kingdom Games cartographer Christopher Graefe.

The Kingdom Games is still offering the marathon distances of 6.5- and 12-miles at competitive prices of $250 and $375 and will be scheduling solo 15-mile swims for $650 by special reservations.
