Elizabeth Fry Honored In New York City

Elizabeth Fry, a mild-mannered financial services professional living in the state of Connecticut, works in Manhattan Island among the multitudes.

Day after day, year after year, decade after decade, the 60-year-old Fry has been making the commute into the Big Apple.

But on November 14th in New York City, she was a special guest honored at the 16th annual Guinness World Records Day as the oldest person to complete the Oceans Seven.

Fry has set numerous records in her marathon swimming career, but this was the first time that she was honored by the Guinness World Records for breaking the existing Oceans Seven record of Antonio Argüelles at the age of 60 years 301 days old.

Fry was honored together with six Harlem Globetrotters basketball players for trick shots and inventor Richard Browning for breaking the record for fastest speed in a body-controlled jet engine powered suit.
