While Kane Radford was able to successfully appeal and get overturned the initial decision of Swimming New Zealand to keep him from participating in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, his teammate Charlotte Webby was not.
Radford made a convincing case of international competitiveness, but Webby has many fewer international races and no top finishes on the FINA 10 km Marathon Swimming World Cup circuit. As such, she was unable to convince the New Zealand decision-makers at its Sports Tribunal that she is competitive enough to place in the top 16 in the 10 km marathon swim at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
As a result, New Zealand will only be represented by Radford in Rio.
