Callum Eade is an open water swimmer and triathlete from New Zealand who overcame testicular cancer. After overcoming his health challenge, he has went on to complete 16 Ironman Triathlons, over 30 Half Ironman races, and 4 of the 7 Oceans Seven channels:

  • August 2019: completed a 33.5 km crossing of the English Channel from England to France in 10 hours 56 minutes to raise money for a research project focused on Immune Oncology Research for Kids.
  • August 2022: completed a 35 km crossing of the North Channel from Northern Ireland to Scotland in 11 hours 40 minutes
  • March 2023: completed a 23 km crossing of the Cook Strait from South Island to North Island in 6 hours 41 minutes
  • September 2023: completed a 32.3 km crossing of the Catalina Channel from Catalina Island to Palos Verdes Peninsula in 13 hours 5 minutes

Along the way, he has raised over $845,000 AUD to help find a cure for cancer…to date.

Eade explains, “Sarah, my wife is now over 3 years into her battle with Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. This means cancer presented in her lungs, parts of her skeleton, thyroid and brain. Since that day in September 2020, life in the Eade household has been very different. So…I swim to make a difference. There is so so much more work to do, to not only raise money to continue to accelerate the fight against the disease, but equally importantly, to raise awareness.”

Below are video highlights on his first four channel swims across the English Channel, North Channel, Cook Strait, and Catalina Channel. His next crossing is scheduled for the first week of April 2024 across the Molokai Channel.

Onwards to his fundraising goal of AUD$1,000,000.
