Simon Murie, founder of SwimTrek teamed up with Gary Emich, known as Mr. Alcatraz, down south in the tropically warm waters of Baja California for a new SwimTrek in Mexico.

SwimTrek has been running open water swimming tours in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Middle East and Northern Europe for years to great acclaim. Expansion to the west coast of the Americas was the next logical step.

And Baja California’s water is absolutely gorgeous in a part of the world where surfers, fishermen, divers and other marine enthusiasts have been visiting for decades. Back in 1984, a 24-mile professional marathon swim was conducted along this course where many of history’s greatest swimmers – Paul Asmuth, Claudio Plit and Philip Rush – gathered to enjoy the aqua-blue waters of Mexico.
