A festive outdoor evening at the Peter Archer Rowing Center, located next to the historic Long Beach Marine Stadium (site to the 1932 Los Angeles Olympic Games rowing events), will celebrate the induction of 14 individuals into the Long Beach (California) Aquatic Capital Hall of Fame on September 21st.
“These individuals have brought honor and recognition to Long Beach through their aquatic endeavors. They are a big reason why Long Beach is the Aquatic Capital of America,” said vice president Lucy Johnson. “A full list of honorees, and the official invitation will be announced soon.
Aquatic Capital of America, a non-profit organization, was formed in 2008 to promote the myriad aquatic activities offered in Long Beach; to recognize, honor and support the City of Long Beach and its aquatic athletes, coaches, and organizations; and to promote water safety and education. ACOA also supports community and regional efforts to cleanse local waterways as well as to increase the number of local aquatic facilities.”
Its salute to local lifeguards is posted above.
