You Got 20 Minutes Max To Swim 5K

Registration for the always sold-out Tampa Bay Frogman Swim opens on August 6th at 7 am New York time.

Race director Kurt Ott advises, “The slots sell out in less than 20 minutes so interested swimmers must register as quickly as possible on August 6th starting at 7 am. Come out and support the Navy SEAL Foundation.”

This year, Sean Doolittle, a 15-year-old middle distance freestyler and son of a Navy SEAL, defended his title at the 9th Annual Tampa Bay Frogman Swim, swimming a little over an hour in the 53-55°F water. He and his brother Ryan raised over US$6,400 that added to this year’s proceeds of a little over US$600,000 – a huge amount from the 175 participants.

Ott continues, “Come swim across Tampa Bay and help us never leave a man behind. The Tampa Bay Frogman Swim is a 5 km open water swim and fundraiser that supports the Navy SEAL Foundation, a 501(c)(3) [non-profit organization] with a coveted four star rating by Charity Navigator.

100% of net proceeds go directly to support the mission of the Navy SEAL Foundation. While US$1,500 is the ideal fundraising goal per swimmer, the majority of swimmers raise over that amount, many raise much more. If you continue on with registration, we ask that you bring that same effort of fundraising commitment as you could be taking the slot of a swimmer who has every intention of meeting or vastly exceeding that goal.

If you’re registering just to set a personal best or check off a bucket list item, this may not be the swim for you.

This is more than just a swim. Fundraising can be done via the imATHLETE fundraising page, collecting donations personally or through the Donate button on www.tampabayfrogman.com. Visit www.navysealfoundation.org to learn more more about this very special cause on January 13th 2019.”
