The American city of Indianapolis has renamed 35 streets in its downtown area to honor Olympic swimmers in anticipation of the USA Olympic Swimming Trials that will be held between June 15th and 23rd.
Seven of the honorees have ties to the open water swimming world, either as ocean swimmers, watermen, or open water swimming announcers:
- Duke Kahanamoku Drive
- Elizabeth Beisel Way
- Aaron Peirsol Parkway
- Johnny Weissmuller Way
- Gary Hall, Jr. Drive
- John Naber Lane
- Rowdy Gaines Drive
