Seal Beach in Southern California is where International Swimming Hall of Fame and International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame dual inductees Lynne Cox and Penny Dean often trained for years during the 1970s and 1980s, back and forth between the Seal Beach Pier and the rocky jetty.
Started by a local Navy SEAL, the Sea Monkeys, every Thursday morning, have long continued that tradition.
