For years in the 20th century, swimmers like Lynne Cox and Penny Lee Dean walked under or near the Seal Beach Pier before their long distance workouts in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Southern California. Now, those same steps are taken by triathletes and the Sea Monkeys.
