Nora Toledano Cadena became the first Mexican woman and the 14th person in history to complete the Oceans Seven in March 2019.
The Mexican International Marathon Swimming Hall of Famer completed a tandem crossing with Elizabeth Fry of the Cook Strait in 9 hours 54 minutes.
Toledano wrote, “I feel lucky to be living this adventure with my friends Elizabeth Fry and Mariel Hawley Dávila with whom I shared dreams, seas and strokes.”
The day of achievement was not over with Toledano’s crossing from the North Island to South Island:
* Hawley also achieved the Oceans Seven in 11 hours 45 minutes, swimming in the same direction to become the 15th person to complete the Oceans Seven.
* Fry is nearly there with 6 of the 7 Oceans Seven channels now completed.
