The Wexford Masters Open Sea Swimming Club is on its way to a Relay Oceans Seven.

The Irish team of James O’Connor, Enda Sinnott, Peter ‘The Bullet’ Bolger, Saskia Dodebier, Sandra Goldsmith and Denise Underwood has completed a relay crossing of the English Channel in 12 hours 31 minutes in 2014, a crossing of the North Channel in 13 hours 9 minutes in 2015, a crossing of the Catalina Channel in 11 hours 56 minutes in 2016 as well as a 6 hour 7 minute Trans Tahoe Relay in northern California a few days after their Catalina crossing.

The sextet plans to cross the Strait of Gibraltar between Spain and Morocco in 2017, the Tsugaru Channel in Japan and the Cook Strait in New Zealand in 2018, and culminate their Relay Oceans Seven with a crossing of the Molokai Channel in Hawaii in 2019.

With plans to complete the arduous challenge in 2019, they will become the first team in history to achieve the Oceans Seven feat outside of Americans Richard Gaenzle, Jr., Brian Ross, and Chris Kraus.
