Vermont Public Radio On And Across Lake Memphremagog

John Dillon reports on open water swimming on and across Lake Memphremagog, Vermont.

His report [here] focused on the recent 40.2 km In Search of Memphre that stretches from Newport in the American state of Vermont to Magog in the Canadian province of Quebec where 37-year-old Sharessa Gutierrez of Omaha, Nebraska won in 15 hours 51 minutes.

14-year-old Vera Rivard [shown on left] is the youngest person to cross the entire length of the lake, finishing the turbulent 25-mile course in 16 hours 24 minutes on July 18th.
