The front of the pack and the back of the pack at the start of an onshore start in an ocean swim is like two sides of a coin: complete opposites.
Towards the front, the athletes run and race into the water, ever so aggressively and quickly.
Towards the back, the athletes walk and wade into the water, ever so passively and calmly.
