Travis Nederpelt Wins Another Ocean Race In America

Travis Nederpelt, a two-time Australian Olympian and frequent ocean race victor in America and Australia, took his navigational talents and open water savvy from Down Under to Florida this past weekend.

In an impressive show of pool Olympians pushing it hard in the open water, Travis won the International Swimming Hall of Fame Fran Crippen SafeSwim 1 Mile Dash for Cash. Battling 3-time Olympic medalist Peter Vanderkaay from start to finish, the pair came barreling past the final turn buoy towards the onshore finish. Travis, shown below after the race, stood up first and dolphin quickly through the shadows and punctuated his victory with a bolt up the soft-sand beach.
