When the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming became part of the bucket list for marathon swimmers, it did not take too much time before three became fashionable and motivational in the open water swimming world.

Now there are numerous goals involving the number three:

* Triple Crown of the Tennessee: 5-mile Swim Hobbs Island + 6.2-mile Bridges to Bluffs 10K + 10-mile Swim The Suck

* New Zealand Triple Crown of Swimming: Foveaux Strait + Cook Strait + km Lake Taupo
