Theodore Yach completed his 97th Robben Island crossing together with Martin Goodman who completed his 25th crossing under the escort of pilot Derrick Frazer.

It was a wake-up call this morning,” Yach explains. “We chose to swim Three Anchor Bay to Robben Island; [it was a] terrible mistake. 4 hours 36 minutes later, we collapsed under the Robben Island lighthouse having swum against the current the entire way. No matter, we prevailed and succeeded. Judging by the pain in my shoulders, we won’t forget this one in a hurry. Dolphins, whales and seals were in abundance.”
