The Productive Smart People And Sharks At AltaSea

Dr. Chris Lowe, Director of the California State University of Long Beach Shark Lab [see video above], and Dr. Dan Pondella, Director of the Southern California Marine Institute [see video above], and representatives of the Southern California Marine Institute Consortium of 23 colleges, universities and foundations* are presenting Robots & Sharks on April 21st on the AltaSea campus.

Among others, this group is working to transform the rows of previously underused and unused wharf buildings to a marine college town and will be exhibiting their innovative developments.

The AltaSea campus location is Berth 58 at 2456 South Signal Street, San Pedro, California 90731.

* The Southern California Marine Institute Consortium includes the Ocean Studies Institute (California State University Channel Islands, Dominguez Hills, Fullerton, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Northridge, Pomona, San Bernardino and San Marcos) and the combined marine resources of the University of Southern California, Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies, University California Los Angeles, and Occidental College, Los Angeles Community College District, The Bay Foundation, and NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service West Coast Region.
