The Look Of Ice Swimmers In Burghausen

Young swimmers were just as tough as their older counterparts at the Ice Swimming Aqua Sphere World Championships in Burghausen, Germany yesterday in the showcase 1000m event held in 2-3°C water conditions and minus air temperatures.

Julia Wittig came into the world championship ice swimming event as the pre-race favorite and did not disappoint the raucous crowd in her hometown of Burghausen.

Victoria Mori of Argentina and Conor Turner of Ireland were the fastest of the young guns, both placing in the Top 3 in the overall standings.

They had the look of champions and skilled veterans of the ice – very similar to their more senior competitors.
