To the victor goes the spoils.

In the open water swimming world, the victor is not always the fastest. In fact, often the most self-satisfied swimmers are those who achieve their own particular goals quietly and privately. Sometimes, time is not the important parameter. Many times, simply finishing leads to the ultimate satisfaction. As a result, the achievement of one goal motivates you to reach higher and go further the next time.
