Siviero writes, “The Swimming Through Postcards project inspires generations by combining sport, tourism, and environmental preservation. In open water swimming, courage takes the lead — age is just a category. That is the message that 70-year-old master swimmer Francismar Siviero shares with the world in every swim he undertakes through the Swimming Through Postcards project.
Open water swimming is a tool for health, inclusion, personal achievement, and connection with nature. With over a decade of history, the initiative has reached iconic destinations in Brazil and abroad, highlighting the power of sport as a cultural and transformative experience.
Each event is more than just a sporting challenge. It is an act of love for nature, a moment to reflect on our limits, and a celebration of life in motion. The Swimming Through Postcards project also seeks to raise awareness about the importance of preserving seas, rivers, and lakes by showcasing stunning natural landscapes and their potential for sustainable and sports tourism.”
I swam in the iconic Défi de Monte-Cristo in Marseille, in French Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. Inspired by Alexandre Dumas’ novel, the race symbolizes overcoming challenges and the spirit of freedom — values that have been at the heart of the project since its inception.“
