Swimming Singleys Shine In Texas Open Water

Claire Singley and her brother Ted help the Carroll High School open water team capture the American Swimming Association Open Water Swimming Texas High School State Championships held this weekend as part of the 8th annual Money Box Cap 2K Open Water Race and Pledge Swim in Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas.

Claire won her fourth straight High School State Championship in 25:21, well ahead of Taylor Cole (27:03) and Chelsea Onstott (27:06). As part of the Money Box Cap 2K race, Claire finished 9 seconds over Natalie Sacco of the University of Texas.

On the boy’s side, Connor Nolan edged Andrew Phillips of Austin Bowie High School (see finish above), 25:13 to 25:16 while Ted Singley finished a close third in 25:17. The three high schoolers also finished first, second, and third overall in the Money Box Cap 2K.

Like Claire, Southlake Carroll High School’s open sater team easily won its fourth straight Boys and Girls Texas High School Championships.
