Zanzibar Island is an Indian Ocean islands located off the Swahili Coast, adjacent to mainland Tanzania in Africa. The island is separated from the Tanzanian mainland by a channel which at its narrowest point is 36.5 km (22.7 miles) across. The island has beautiful sandy beaches with fringing coral reefs that are rich in marine biodiversity.
