Daan Glorie, a student at Johan Cruijff University in Amsterdam, will be swimming in the 88K FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix in Argentina from Hernandarias to Parana as a preparation for his 24-hour solo swim effort where his goal is to swim 101K.
His swim will a charity swim for the Ronald McDonald Centre in the Netherlands.
“It is really an amazing goal. This marathon is really a dream after five IJsselmeer Lake crossings, two Macedonia 30K races and three Faros Marathon Swims in Croatia. I am not only swimming this marathon for myself, but also for a charity: the Ronald McDonald Centre in Amsterdam, the first European Sport Centre only for disabled children. It is really amazing to see how sport can changes the lives of these childeren. Donations can be made here.”
